Illustrator Introduction

When searching for an illustrator to highlight for this blog, I was determined to pick someone a little different and someone who appealed to my aesthetics. At first I was struck by a specific illustrator but that illustrator had only one children’s book to their name so I continued searching. While browsing through hundreds of books, I had a typical double-back instance with Dan Santat. I was walking by the displays of books and stepped two steps back to look at this book:

I am unsure what spoke to me exactly but the cover art was enchanting and I knew I had found the illustrator I wished to cover. Pages upon pages of illustrations nearly took me from the text because even without the text, the images told the story effortlessly. I could not simply walk away from Dan Santat and his illustrations
